MP+ Making your Tax Return Easy!

The links below will take you to the year-end questionnaires/checklists that will help you prepare the necessary documents to send our way, which will make the process for preparing and lodging your returns more efficient for all.

We have invested in a streamlined, modern solution to help you send us all relevant documentation required to complete your year-end tax work efficiently and securely. Note, legacy PDFs are available at the bottom of this page.

What’s new this year?

Cyber-Security Focus:In a world where cyber security is a primary concern for individuals and businesses, we have transitioned our PDF-based questionnaires to a fully online, secure platform where you can work your way through the questionnaire sections that are relevant to you, and upload your documents as you go. This is better aligned to cyber-security best practice than emailing documents to us, and more convenient and efficient than giving us hard copies of questionnaires and documentation.

Upload Documents as You Go: This new system allows you to upload relevant documentation as you proceed through the sections. Questions that require a supporting document (e.g. invoices, statements) have a description for what is required. You can upload multiple files per question if required (PDFs and Images), and if you’re using your mobile device, you can take pictures directly through the questionnaire system.

Save Time by Avoiding Duplication: The new combined online version of the questionnaire allows you to enter your personal details only once, rather than having to duplicate them across each PDF questionnaire that you complete. This makes for a faster experience for you, while it also allows us to ensure we have your up-to-date information on file.

Only Complete the Sections You Need: As you work through the questionnaire, you will start with the Personal Tax questions and its relevant upload sections. For instance, the business and rental questionnaires will only be displayed depending on your answers to the ABN and Rental Income questions in the personal tax section.

What Now?

Our online Year-End Tax Questionnaire is ready for you to complete and upload your supporting documentation, and you can access it via the link below.

By using the questionnaire link and uploading your documentation as you go, we will have access to complete your tax return remotely. As such, face to face tax return appointments are not required. Our online tax return service allows us to get to your return sooner (as you won’t have to wait for an appointment), and saves you time out of your day in dropping your documents to us and waiting for your return to be completed. As we work through your return(s), we will contact you with any queries, and when it is ready to sign. However, if you would still prefer a face-to-face appointment at our Joondalup office, please contact us to arrange.

Please note the following recommendation from the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) regarding the timing of your tax return and pre-fill information:

Wait for your information to pre-fill: Registered tax agents have access to the ATO’s pre-fill information reports, with that information coming from employers, government agencies, health funds and banks. The best time to lodge a tax return is from late July, because by then:

  • your employer has usually submitted your income statement with the ATO and it will be pre-filled and available for us to access
  • other important information, such as details of bank interest, private health insurance and government payments will and be available to us via pre-fill reports

Pre-filled information helps us make your tax returns much more efficient and accurate. If we can’t access pre-filled information, additional time and cost will be required to find, calculate, and enter the information.
